July Newsletter

Dear friends,

Summer is officially upon us!  This means outdoor festivals, celebrations, hot weather and an abundance of fun!  I plan to be around for most of the summer and you will likely find me out and about in the community with my family, or at City Hall.  I look forward to seeing you all in the sun, so please don’t hesitate to say hello.   Currently, I am working with a group of Internationally Trained Medical Graduates (IMGs) by assisting these qualified and professional individuals to move into the ability to practice in Ontario.  I think this initiative will not only be beneficial to them, but will also help to increase access to healthcare for all Ontarians!  Stay tuned!

I am continuing to work on reducing speed limits in school zones as part of an overall strategy of increasing safety.  If you have any feedback on this, please let me know.  You can find more information on this initiative on my website.

I encourage residents who would like to attend a Committee or Council meeting to contact me if they would like to learn about some of the processes.  If there are specific topics you would like to learn more about, please let me know and I will be sure that we have the appropriate staff on hand to answer any questions you may have. Over the next few months you will continue to see communications regarding the South West Community Centre – I hope that you consider attending an information session, however if not, feel free to pass on your feedback to me via email and I will be sure to make sure that it gets passed on. Again, I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to call, or email me with their questions and concerns.  As always, I am happy to hear from you at any time.
